Eccup Donkey Sanctuary

DonkeysEccup Donkey Sanctuary came to our March meeting, unfortunately they couldn’t bring any donkey’s with them but Kirsty Christmas gave an informative and enthusiastic talk all about the work they do, we were surprised to hear it is an international organisation, rescuing and rehoming donkeys, also educating owners how to treat them, particularly in the third world where they are working animals.

We are starting a craft club, once a month, a bit like a knit and natter but for any craft! The first one will be on Tuesday 31st March at Margaret’s house. We are planning to make decoupage name pendants for everyone.

There’s quite a lot going on this year especially with the WI centenary in September, here’s a few dates for your diary;

12th May; Walk from West Tanfield to Ripon, finishing with tea and cakes at Alma House, this is the last stage of the Ripon Rowells walk which WI members are walking to raise money for ACWW (Associated Countrywomen of the World)

18th May; coach trip to Kiplin Hall for the Northern Federation Craft Show coming home via Thorpe Perrow.

18th June; Ladies Day at Ripon Races, get your hats ready!

About craftycreeky

I live in a busy market town in Yorkshire with my husband, kids, dogs and chickens. I love trying new crafts, rediscovering old ones, gardening, walking...anything creative really I started this blog after my New Year resolution worked so well. My resolution (the first one I've ever kept!) was to post a photograph of my garden on Facebook every day. My hope was that I would then see what was good in the garden and not just weeds and work, which was my tendency. The unexpected side-effect was that I have enjoyed many more hours in the garden. I am hoping that 'The Crafty Creek' will have the same effect. Happy creating!
